Engineers, designers, and experts often behave like hammers.

The creator of Bauhaus E noted people often seek unnecessarily complex answers to problems - usually from only one perspective, their own. It is rare for people to search for the ’root cause’, especially when outside their comfort zone or expertise.

To an engineer: all problems are of the engineering types - per the saying: everything looks like a nail to a hammer. This behavior causes many known and well funded companies to fail, product to miss a market, and market to miss a product. This very human - but addressable - bias causes engineers (and non-engineers alike) to always look for the nail instead of the solutions upstream or downstream from their viewpoint - such as the business case, end users, needs, impact, materials, serviceability, recyclability, scalability, etc.

About Us

Alp Technologies is a renewable energy engineering start-up based in London focusing on developing renewable energy technologies for low-income countries. We are founded and run on the principles of Bauhaus-E.

Since its founding in 2015, we have won many innovation awards and funded R&D projects on advanced battery storage systems, AI in predictive maintenance, waste to energy generation, and power electronics and control systems. We aim to leapfrog fossil-fuel based energy infrastructure in lower income nations using renewable energy based on local circular economy principles.
